Backstage @ Julian J Smith LFW A/W 2011

It was a speedy cab ride from the Jonathan Saunders show in Paddington to Covent Garden for my last show of London Fashion Week day two, Julian J Smith at On|Off. I didn't stay to watch the show as I was so tired but heres a little glimpse of backstage.

The head makeup artist for the show was Andrew Gallimore who created a look which transformed the models into what he described as "sexy albino vampires".
To start off several layers of M.A.C 'C1' Face & Body foundation were used to give the skin a light glowy vampire appearance.
Pro Longwear concealer was then brushed through the brows to blank them out.
Finally the main focus of the look was the rich burgundy iridescent lip.
It was created by first lining the lips in 'Burgundy' Lip Pencil and then applying M.A.C's classic 'Russian Red' Lipstick all over. To top it off M.A.C PRO 'Reflects Blackened Red' glitter was used in the center of the lips to give it extra depth and dimension.
While the makeup was being done the hair stylists were busy preparing the poker straight peroxide wigs for the models.

Once that was done it was on to nails.
The nail technician created these gorgeous false nails to compliment the prints of the collection.
Then it was on to dressing the models for the catwalk.
The clothes were modern gothic and edgy, a real mix of ruffles leather bondage and graphic prints in shades of burgundy teal blue black and grey.
The look was then completed with fishnet tights headcaps and these clumpy buckled New Rock-esque boots.
